Faith Chapel
Wesleyan Church
Our Missionaries
We are called to reach out to our community, our nation and the entire world with the
Good News of Jesus Christ, our Redeemer. Some are called to go physically to the
uttermost ends of the earth. Others are called to support them in prayer and also
financially.

Faith Chapel has helped support missions in the United States and in various parts of
the world and continues to increase its support as the end times rapidly approach.

Those missions and missionaries are featured on this page.
As a Pastor's daughter, Joan Wallace
accepted Christ at an early age.
However, it was not until her mother's
death that she understood that
salvation was something she had to
seek and obtain for herself. At the age
of 17, Joan received a divine call for
missions but, as a young adult, she
chose not to follow this call. When a
devastating change occurred in her life,
God reminded her of His call on her
life. Short-term mission trips confirmed
His call.
Joan has a B.S. in nursing that she
earned from Indiana Wesleyan
University in May 2000. She is planning
to use her gifts and skills at the
Wesleyan hospital in Zimba, Zambia.
Her goal is to help the Zambian
nationals and missionaries minister to
the sick and dying. Zambia is a country
that is changing drastically due to the
AIDS epidemic and other diseases. It
is her desire to share the hope of
Christ in the midst of this change. She
clings to this promise: "
Being confident
of this very thing, that he which hath
begun a good work in you will perform
it until the day of Jesus Christ".
Joan has two grown children and three
grandchildren.
Matt and Caryl Aukerman met at Indiana
University through their involvement with
Campus Crusade for Christ where their
eyes were opened to the Great
Commission. They graduated from IU -
Matt earning a degree in secondary
education with a mathmatics certification
and Caryl earning a degree in social work.
From 1997-1998 they served as GO-Net
volunteers in Russia where they led small
group Bible studies and helped in the
beginning stages of a church plant. During
this time they felt God's presence in a
special way and sensed a call to
missionary service.
Matt and Caryl have been appointed as
career missionaries to Albania. They
desire to see God work in the lives of
Albanians through their own lives as they
share Christ with new friends, disciple
new believers to live for Him, and
contribute to the establishment of the
Wesleyan Church in Albania.
"As the rain and snow come
down...watering the earth and making it
bud and flourish...so is my word that goes
out from my mouth:...it will not return to me
empty, but will accomplish what I desire
and achieve the purpose for which I sent it"
(Isaiah 55:10-11 NIV).
Brian Burke was raised in Annandale,
NJ, where for over 15 years, he has been
an active member of Faith Chapel
Wesleyan Church. In 1996 he ministered
among Russian youth in the areas of
evangelism and discipleship for 14
months as a GO-Net volunteer in
Vladimir, Russia. He continued to return
to Russia annually to work with the
EuroCamp ministries. Upon his return to
North America, Brian sensed a clear call
to give up his own life plans, dreams,
and goals and to enter into full-time
Christian service. Two years later, while
finishing his undergraduate degree at
Indiana Wesleyan University (IWU), he
was specifically called to cross-cultural
missions work in Eastern Europe. Brian
earned a B.A. in Christian ministries from
IWU in 1999 and an M.A. in
missions/intercultural studies from
Wheaton College Graduate School in
2001.

Cara (Dregits) grew up in Mishawaka,
Indiana. Her call to missions began with
a burden for urban ministry in North
America and working with people who
are oppressed. God began to broaden
His call during her time in graduate
school where ?He exploded her world
view.? With time, Cara sensed a passion
in her heart for the Russian people and a
desire to further the kingdom of God
through missionary service. Cara
graduated from Indiana Wesleyan
University in 1998 with a B.S. in Christian
ministries and youth ministries. She
earned an M.A. in missions/intercultural
studies from Wheaton College Graduate
School in 1999.

For the past two years Brian and Cara
have served as intern missionaries in
Vladimir, Russia. They have been actively
involved in youth and young adult
ministry, leadership development, and
various church ministries. Upon their
return to Russia, Brian and Cara will
serve as mission directors for the
Russian field. Together their vision is to
empower and work side by side with the
Russian national church leaders in order
to reach the Russian people with the
truth of the gospel through the means of
evangelism, church planting, and
ministries of compassion.

"
My grace is sufficient for you, for my
power is made perfect in weakness.
Therefore I will boast all the more gladly
about my weaknesses, so that Christ's
power may rest on me. That is why, for
Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in
insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in
difficulties. For when I am weak, then I
am strong"
(2 Corinthians 12:9 NIV)
For over 100 years the ministry of
Hephzibah Children's Home has
cared for children who were
orphaned, displaced or removed
from their homes because of abuse
and neglect. Through the Great
Depression, the World Wars, the
Korean and Viet Nam Conflicts, the
baby boomer era and now into the
21st century, we have been
ministering to the needs of hurting
children. This has been, and always
will be, the mission of Hephzibah
Children's Home.
For many years Faith Chapel has
helped support Hephzibah. Located
near Macon, GA the home provides a
safe home to young girls who have
no family that can support them. It is
owned by the The Wesleyan Church
but receives assistance from many
groups and government agencies
from the local to the state level.
We not only give financially but also
collect labels from Campbell's
products to help in obtaining new
15-passenger vans for the school.

Check the entire list of products at the
Campbell's website.

Why not take a few minutes to send words of
encouragement, birthday greetings, holiday
greetings, etc. Add them to your daily prayer
list. They're a long way from home and doing
God's work.
Brainerd Indian School was originally part of
Hephzibah Faith Missionary Society. It became part of
the Wesleyan Church in 1948. Its mission was to offer
quality education to Native Americans.
It is now Lakota Christian Academy, located in Rapid
City, SD,  and is part of the
Wesleyan Native American
Ministries.

Campus Crusade for Christ is active on
College Campuses throughout the country
helping students begin a relationship with
God so that they may find purpose and
meaning, and experience life the way God
intended.

Jeff and Karen Grant currently reside in
High Bridge, lead the Young Adult group at
South Ridge Community Church (just over
the hill from us) and have just recently

Stand Strength Team is the most recent addition to our missionary group.
They are a dedicated team of athletes who have a love for Christ and a
passion to see Moms and Dads come to the knowledge of Christ and to
raise their kids in God-fearing homes.

Some of these men work full-time in the ministry while others are "part-time"
and have other full-time professions. Their "draw" is the amazing feats of
strength and endurance that they use to illustrate the walls and barriers we
encounter in life. Faith in Jesus Christ and Him crucified gives the believer
the ability to break these barriers that hinder and endurance to fulfill the
tasks that God asks us to do.

Their income is from corporate sponsors, profit from Stand apparel and free
will offerings. They have dedicated their lives to serving the Lord and trust in
Him to supply all their needs.

Please visit their website at
Stand Strength Team for even more including
bios and online store.
